Born in Zimbabwe and raised in Australia, Tig Terera tells stories with one foot on the pavement and the other in the clouds. His work walks the backstreets of Melbourne, chasing the pulse of a city, the grit of survival, and the beauty in overlooked faces.

His debut tv series Swift Street, which he created, wrote on and directed, travelled from local corners to the Canneseries stage, earning an ADG nomination along the way. He’s directed for Netflix’s Heartbreak High, and stood at the Berlinale with his short film, Tinashè, earning a Special Mention. He’s carried his stories through London, Paris, and Singapore. His work is deeply rooted in diaspora culture and impact, crafting stories with authenticity and heart.
