Australian Marine Conservation Society
60th Anniversary Film
Australian Marine Conservation Society approached us again, 10 years later, to create another Fragile Oceans film. Once again the metaphor of animal fragility was expressed through a film that tries to illustrate the struggle of our marine ecosystems. Depicted as lost and abandoned animals, struggling to compete for our attention, the film explores the out-of-sight, out-of-mind nature of a lot of our environmental issues. When the majority of Australians live and work in urban spaces, it’s hard for us to understand the plight of many struggling species.
The film’s soundtrack, Final Rescue Attempt, was kindly donated by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’s and gave the film a beautifully moving, sorrowful yet uplifting accompaniment to the themes and visuals of the film. We were deeply grateful for their generosity in letting us use such a powerful piece of music.
