Belong/Howatson+Company
Book of Limbo

Collider was engaged by Howatson+Company, on behalf of the progressive carbon neutral telco, Belong. The brief was to manifest the concept of a digital wormhole in book form.

Alongside the book design, we needed to create roughly 100 original illustrations, using a spectrum of techniques to help visualise Howatson+Company's tangential and surreal written narrative.

The book production was carefully planned to allow for an outcome that was as sustainably-minded as possible. Local printing and binding, limited copies and careful use of FSC stocks with either high post consumer waste amounts, or from carbon-neutral factories with clear and accredited sustainability benchmarks.

Studio leads Andrew van der Westhuyzen and Kåre Martens tag-teamed their way through creating a plethora of different artworks using everything from origami to GAN, CG to still life photography, and more.
