Laurence Pike
Nero
In an evolution of techniques used for 2019's Drum Chant video, Clemens captured Laurence Pike’s performance of Nero in a motion capture arena.
Produced as an interactive video, mo-cap technology was used to reduce Pike's form to the minimum number of dots, while still retaining the recognisable form of a figure playing drums.
Through user interaction, the viewer can manipulate the angle of observation, challenging the recognition of the performing figure.
